The SurTech Telemetry Mini-Monitor was a small battery powered device that was developed in the latter 60's to simply provide an audible tone beep for each electrical heart beat. But this device also encoded the patients EKG electrical signal and allowed transmission by standard telephone to its companion unit, the SurTech Telemetry Decoder which was usually at a physicians office or a receiving hospital.
