This military ambulance came off the production line in July, 1967 and was built by Kaiser Jeep. Built on the Jeep "Gladiator" pick-up chassis, it had a six-cylinder, 230 cubic inch, overhead cam engine, that generated 132 horsepower. These vehicles, unfortunately, proved to be too unrelaible for wartime use, and production was stopped after seven years. At 14 tons, it was capable of acarrying between five and eight patients at a time. The ambulance in this photo now resides at the Heartland Museum of Military Vehicles, in Lexington, NE.
